Nestled on the shores of Lake Wakatipu is Queenstown, New Zealand's premier resort destination and home to the Queenstown Cricket Club. One of Otago's leading Cricket Clubs, the Queenstown Cricket Club not only enjoys playing its home matches in one of the most picturesque landscapes found anywhere in the world, it also has the privilege of playing on some of the very best wickets in New Zealand. The John Davies Oval at the Queenstown Events Centre also hosts One Day & T20 International matches as well as NZ Domestic Matches. Whilst the ground is generally reserved for such matches, the club has access to the Oval throughout the season when it is available. The Club participates in the Otago Country Cricket Competitions and has one of the largest junior membership in the region - offering opportunities for young players from 5years old. The club also facilitates mid week social competitions for players. The season generally starts in October and runs through until mid to late March.
